Project Background
This early 20th-century Bosphorus apartment had lost much of its original character due to unsympathetic renovations over the years. Historic parquet floors and ceiling details were hidden beneath layers of neglect, diminishing the apartment’s charm.
Design Approach
Akra’s team aimed to restore the apartment’s historical identity while introducing modern functionality. The focus was on making the Bosphorus view the central feature of the home and creating a seamless flow between living areas.
Outcome
The apartment successfully combines Istanbul’s historic character with modern comfort, offering a refined and intimate living space overlooking the Bosphorus.
